Michigan Challenge Balloonfest

This was the 26th year of the event, hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce and held at the Howell High School campus and in downtown Howell. The three-day event featured the state championship of hot-air ballooning, as well as family entertainment and activities. New to the event this year was the Detroit Pistons PNC Party, a basketball tournament and the Landing Zone, a creative and entertaining area for kids of all ages to play, shop, eat and explore art.
Other highlights included: balloon launches and fly ins, Skydiving shows, Beatles tribute band - The BackBeats, carnival, arts and crafts festival, MediLodge Fireworks on Friday night and a Saturday night balloon glow.
D & R Energy Services sponsored hot-air balloon # 33 this year flown by Phil Clinger from Battle Creek

Our office located on Main street in Milford Michigan our office and educational training center was built in 1857 for use as a blacksmith shop.
D & R Energy will keep all of the structural integrity of the antique building but plans to add a few modern updates such as renewable energy systems and energy efficient lighting and devises.

The MI Earth Day Fest
Michigan's largest Earth Day festival was a celebration of Earth Day's 40th anniversary. Along with a parade that took place Saturday morning, it involved 200 green and wellness exhibits; kids corner arts and activities; organic food and drink; renewable energy equipment; home improvement and energy conservation; electric and hybrid vehicle displays; green home and garden products; and other healthy and green living resources.

Hornung School in Brighton, MI
This special event was a celebration for students’ dedication in making Hornung a Certified Michigan Green School. The event boosted awareness on how to make environments at school, home and on Earth healthier by our actions.
